TOGETHER FOR THALASSAEMIA

On May 8, 2025, the global thalassaemia community will come together to celebrate International Thalassaemia Day. This year, we proudly embrace the theme, “Together for Thalassaemia: Uniting Communities, Prioritizing Patients”, and rally under the powerful slogans #WeAre1 and PatientsFirst.

Every year on 8 May, iconic monuments and buildings around the world are illuminated in red, shining a light on thalassemia and standing in solidarity with those affected by the condition. As we approach International Thalassemia Day 2025, the momentum behind ‘Bring Thal to Light’ is stronger than ever.

Canadian landmarks will be illuminated in red to be part of the spectacle that stretches across continents, delivering a powerful message of hope and solidarity for those affected by thalassemia.

On May 8, 2025, the following Canadian landmarks and buildings will be illuminated red. Please join the thalassemia community by visiting one of the illuminated landmarks, take a picture and share with US. Landmarks are listed by province and location from East to West.
